Hello Lance,
I received the cylinder shims and tried them out today. Had about 0.008" worth of cylinder play in a new Charter Arms revolver. While rotating, the cylinder would scrub the barrel and lock everything up. The installed shims turned this 3 shot revolver into the 5 shot it's supposed to be.

Your hammer shims appear to have fixed my Charter Arms Undercover misfire issues. I think the hammer rubbing the frame and once in a while contacting right before firing pin strike was causing the issues. I bought the (Wolff) extra power spring as well but tried the shims first. No misfires in 50 rds ~ Jason

Critical Technical & Fitment Notes
- Inter-Generation Frame Differences (Bridgeport vs. Charco vs. Charter 2000): Modern universal replacement springs are backward-compatible, but older 1st Generation (Bridgeport/Stratford) and 2nd Generation (Charco) revolvers occasionally feature tighter coil-wind tolerances. Vintage springs may bind on thicker, modern 3rd Generation (Shelton, CT) hammer struts.
- High-Capacity Rimfire Ignition Warning (.22 LR / .22 Mag): While this spring structurally fits the Pathfinder line, vintage 6-shot Pathfinders accept standard centerfire weights readily. Modern 8-shot Pathfinder (.22 LR) and Target Pathfinder (.22 Mag) cylinders require a significantly higher spring rate to reliably detonate tough rimfire rims. Dropping a standard centerfire "Bulldog" weight or reduced-power spring into an 8-shot rimfire will frequently cause ignition failures.
- Frame Mechanics & Strut Compression: Though the physical spring length and coil counts are identical across small frames (e.g., Undercover, Off Duty) and large frames (e.g., Bulldog, Pit Bull, Mag Pug), the hammer spur geometry differs. Small-frame hammers create a shorter overall compression stroke. As a result, the exact same spring will exert slightly less resting and peak seat pressure when installed in a small-frame model compared to a large-frame model.
